      The Norwegian moved to The Dell in November 1999 after being tracked by Saints boss, Dave Jones, for several months. Signed from Molde for £600,000, the versatile player first came to the attention of the manager during a pre-season friendly, but his involvement in the Champions' League with Molde prevented the club from capturing him sooner. Tessem, who can play in numerous positions, made an immediate impact at the club, when he subdued the threat of Tottenham's David Ginola on his Saints debut, and has since gone on to establish himself as a regular in the first team. Tessem has had an outstanding spell with Saints scoring 4 goals and threating many defences for more proving himself to be one of the best in the premiership.
