      The home-grown midfielder turned professional with the club in January 1998, and made his debut later that same season. The youngster then enjoyed a regular spell in the first team in September 1998, but a serious groin injury curtailed his progress, and kept him out of action until the following March. Having made eight appearances prior to the start of the season, Gibbens is another youngster who has rolled off the club's production line, and has a sound future in the game, when he gets another chance.
