      The young striker is in his second spell at The Dell after rejoining the club earlier this season, in the deal that saw Egil Ostenstad move to Blackburn. Davies initially made the switch to Ewood Park for the mammoth fee of £7.25M in June 1998, but he failed to set the north-west alight as he was plagued by a catalogue of injuries. He started his career at Chesterfield where he made 159 appearances and scored 30 goals. Davies attracted the interest of a host of top clubs, but it was the Saints who secured his signature in May 1997 for a fee of £750,000. He scored 12 goals in 30 appearances during his first stint at The Dell, before making the move to Blackburn where he struggled and managed only two goals in 29 appearances. Since returning to The Dell, Davies has scored 5 goals which he will be hoping to improve for next season.
